Spreaders are long, tapered metal instruments with a pointed tip. Their primary purpose is to laterally compress gutta-percha (the rubber-like filling material) against the sides of the prepared root canal.This process creates space for additional accessory cones, ensuring a dense, hermetic seal that fills the canal's irregularities and the apical periphery.
