The bur features a unique three-tiered or multi-wheel design. Unlike standard tapered burs, this bur has calibrated diamond-coated rings separated by non-cutting horizontal grooves. When the bur is pressed against the tooth surface, it stops cutting once the non-cutting shank reaches the tooth, creating orientation grooves of an exact predetermined depth.
